Hi music lover,
here I am to talk you something about my last music experience. I'll talk to you about Tommy the first famous and successful Who's album. Who has had read my personal profile before maybe knows that The Who are one of my favorite band. This could sound strange because it's like if someone tell you that like skiing without he has had never seen snow... (I know it's a dreadful example but this morning I couldn't do something better :-)). Therefore now I feel compelled to tell you why I like this group. It was about six month ago when in June I was at Verona into the Arena with gloomy sky over my head when the first The Who's live concert in Italy after many years was starting. Before that time I had listened just a greatest hits The Who's album and I've had very appreciated it.
At concert where the remaining part of the originally band, Pete Thownshend and Roger Daltrey, were in front of me, I was curios to see a great piece of rock in action... after a while I wasn't disappoint, the concert was started with the Overture of Tommy and continued with some song that I haven't never listened but this wasn't important. I was feeling that music, I was seeing Thownshend playing his guitar doing the famous windmill and the voice of Daltrey was scratching the air and a new, old energy was all around me there I have felt the music.. Unfortunately after about twenty minutes started to rain and soon the rain become a remake of the universal flood then the concert was stopped and Townshend before left the stage set tell us: " Rain should fall on you not on me!!!". The concert started again after more than one hour, meanwhile Daltrey have lost the voice so Townshend have substitute him. After half hour the concert finished and I felt that I assisted to something great.
Let's return to talk about Tommy. It's one of the first rock-opera album that has conceived, it talk about the story of a young boy Tommy that was dumb, blind and deaf that have deal with the trouble of an hard life. So the structure of album is build around this sad story where song after song it's introduce new character and new adventure. In this album I have found many wonderful song like: Overture, Cousin Kevin, The Acid Queen, Underture, Pinball Wizard, I'm free, Welcome, We're Not Gonna Take It... . In this album you can find some of the lost atmosphere of the sixty-seventy years, a part of the culture of that period. But i you reflect better on the album contains you can see that something is actual still now in our "modern" time.
I really appreciate this album and I would like to advise you. I'm sure that worth it!
Good bye,
Mio
