Hi blogger,
here I am after some Italian posts I'm return to write an English one in my awful English. This time I would like to tolk to you of my last reading, Small World: An Academic
Romance of David Lodge. (The Italian title is: Il professore va al congresso).
This book has gave me to a friend about two years ago and since last spring I've never been enterest to read it. But during the last years some things it changed in me and now the reading it one of my passion like when I was young.
But now let's talk about Small World, I have found it light and sometime funny. Light because it talk about a world (the academic one), with the lightness of true story that pull down the academics from their golden pedestal talking about their weakness and their human pulsion that belong to every one but most of their attempt to hide. Funny because the way that author use to undress the character of the people is delicious.
Unfortunately I do not find other things to ponder, sometimes this book with its incredible stories made of impossible coicidence appear to me like a sort of scandalistic English magazine, and this have left me a little bit disappointed. Anyhow I suggest this book to anyone that don't want find a pleasure entartainemet reading.
See you soon,
Mio
